John Ell was appointed President, ATCO Power in November 2010. He joined ATCO in 1978 and has held several progressive senior operating and management positions at our Battle River, Sheerness and Barking power stations. Upon returning to Calgary, John was responsible for the start-ups of the Cory, Muskeg River and Scotford cogeneration plants prior to being appointed Vice President, IPP Operations in 2005; Vice President, Operations in 2008; and Senior Vice President, Canada Operations in May 2010.

Throughout his career, John has applied successful management and operational practices which have contributed to excellence in safety, environmental and production performance throughout ATCO Power.
